Titleist 907 D2 Review by g.sm10, April 26, 2008
I have been playing mine since they hit the shelves…so to speak. Had to order mine and was playing the 905R with the same shaft, loft, etc. Initially felt a bit lighter in weight and sounded different, but nothing that was distracting! I think the D2 is a bit more forgiving and oddly enough I find I get a bit better performance when I tee the ball down a bit lower than I was with the 905R.
Very playable driver and fairly easy to work the ball. I have tried lots of different types and models, but have come to the conclusion that I simply do better with Titleist woods, and now irons. Personal choice of course, but I highly recommend this one.

I started back playing golf after a 30 year hiatus. All this talk about being a certain handicap to play particular clubs is all talk. If you can hit the ball square in the center, then you can play any pro club. If you can’t hit the ball square center, then you need to go practice and work out your swing.
I’m a lefty, so it’s pretty hard to demo all the clubs. I base my decisions on looks and feel. I did test many drivers and definitely preferred the D2 by far over any other model. It looks great, feels great, sounds great, and is extremely easy to hit. I love hitting the power fade with this driver. It is also easy to draw the ball with this driver too. I consistently shoot in the upper 70s and low 80s, which is what I used to shoot when I was a teen. Along with my D2, I play a Titleist 585 17 degree hybrid, Mizuno MP32 irons, Titleist Vokey 54 degree wedge, and a Scotty Cameron Newport Studio 2.0 putter. All these clubs are designated for pro players, but I have concluded that they are just great clubs period, and anyone with a good swing would easily be able to hit any of these clubs. Just make sure you purchase the correct shafts to match your particular swing speed. I have the stock shafts and they work just fine for me. The right compression ball is also important. My swing speed is in the mid 90s, so the Titleist NXTs work great for me. My 15 year old son also plays the same clubs as I do and hits them great!!! Together we have concluded that Titleist and Mizuno make the best clubs. Of course, that is just our opinion, but he has actually tried out all the clubs on the market. He uses the VS Proto shafts in his Titleist clubs and claims they are the best. 9.5 loft with a VS Proto stiff flex shaft is a great combination for anyone with a medium to fast swing speed.
Titleist 907 D2 Review by Tim, June 17, 2008
over the years, i’ve fallen in love with clubs with relatively low launches. this one has such a penetrating ball flight and is probably the best driver in the world for windy conditions. when buying the club, i narrowed it down to the two titleist models (D1 and D2) and the callaways. (never been a taylormade fan and their new drivers aren’t exactly good looking). Interestingly enough, i was sure that the callaways would be longer, but found the titleists to match them in that department. For me, the decider was the awesome workability of this club. there really is no better feeling in golf than when u draw this club. Even though u can play around with your ball flight, the club is forgiving enough to allow you to easily control the ball path.

I’ve had my 907 D2 for a couple of weeks now and it is the best driver I have ever hit. I am a low handicapper and admit it probably isn’t for all players, but it is definitely hot. I have 9.5 loft with the Graphite Design YS-6+ shaft. I have a slower swing speed at roughly 105 mph with the driver so I love the soft tip in this shaft.
Mishits are rare but more than managable with this driver. Best bet if you love the sound of the Titleist “click”.

Another improvement from Titleist. Was playing the 905R, an improvement over the 983K.
Increased distance and best of all, the ball tends to stay in the fairway. Of course, the club will not compensate for an idiot swing, only does it tend to minimize the little pulls and pushes.
Shaft is HST ProForce V2 Stiff. The combination works for me!

Before I start ,I must tell you that I have hit just about every driver there is out there and this is the ONE!Cannot fault this club because it is so easy to hit its a joke!I use a graffaloy blue in stiff and can knock it out there 270 plus no probs! I never thought I would give up my 983k,cleveland launcher, tayler made, and ten others in the shed for this beautiful club? You must be patient with this beast cause once you crush one thats it your in love! What else do you want in club?
Titleist 907 D2 Review by sparktown, July 22, 2008
I am still in the honeymoon period with mine but I think that it’s a superb club. I always judge clubs by how well they perform when it’s not flushed out the middle, in other words when I’m comparing clubs I’ll go for the one that makes the best of my bad shots. So far this driver seems to often leave me on the fairway and pretty long even on my “non-driving” days. Highly recommended.

Switched to this driver from 905T (same loft and shaft). The D2 is a much better club all around. Great feel and sound. About 10 yds more distance and much easier to hit. This is far and away the best driver ever from Titleist.

Long and workable with the perfect amount of forgiveness. I have a 907D2 9.5 with the VS Proto Stiff shaft and I can kill the ball; I have never been so happen with a club before. I would recommend it to the mid to low handicaps.
