This driver is great, just tried it out at the range today. I got the tour model with a stiff fujikura shaft. This driver is long and straight. Saw a huge increase in distance and shot quality just from once use. Works well with a fast swing.

I normally shoot in the 80s to 90s. Handicap about 17 to 18. Plays about once weekly. Lefty. There is NO perfect driver so far in the Market. This Club is as good as one can get asthetically. Very classic in Shape. The feel is optimal. The Swing weight of D3 is about right for an average bloke with a swing speed of 85mph and above. Set up is great. Head actually looks smaller than some 460cc out there. It’s accurate, workable and Forgiving. Trialled the FTi (Draw) with the X460 side to side, found the FTi probably produces a slightly more consistent flight BUT may have less workability. In terms of accuracy and performance the FTi is probably 5+ (for me) but too way too pricely now(even on ebay). For now the X460 is arguably one of the best Branded OEMs to date (considering it’s already reduced price and brand). Certainly Best Bang for its Buck. In short, I love this club, may only consider the FTi if its price drops appreciably……By then, another newer and better club may materialise !

I have been playing with the FTi for a year now. It is a regular flex, 10 degree draw. I like it alot, I just wanted to get my ball flight down, so I looked at the x460. I 1st got one with a stiff graffalloy red shaft. It felt like a stick with a rock on the end. So I traded it in for the stock fujikura 64 stiff shaft model with 9 degree loft. I love this one. It is easy to hit and goes a long, long way. It sets up a little closed, but with a 90+ mile per hour swing speed, the face squares up at impact. High kick shaft promotes the low, long ball flight that I was looking for. Great driver.

Played my X460 today for the first time. I loved it! Great trajectory, long, and straight. Effortless to hit too. Mine is 9 degree w/ Fujikura stiff shaft. I don’t use the alignment aid sole, I align the club with my hands and eyes.

So I have been playing golf for 12 years now and was never able to hit a driver with any consistency. Teamed up with the Aldila NV Green shaft this was the most exciting purchase I have ever made. I can now rip tee shots down the middle with an average distance of 280+ whereas before I was barely reaching the 250 mark. Get the right shaft for your swing speed and style and you’ll really have something with this driver. I couldn’t ask for more off the tee. The high pitched pinging noise it makes attracts the attention of all the golfers on the range as well. Get ready for some killer drives.

Callaway X460. I bought this driver yesterday and it is amazing… I hit it an extra 30 metres… I hit it so straight as well. Its got a great feel as well. The only thing I don’t like is the sound, but apart from that its fine. Today I went in the comp and i drove the ball 290 metres!!! my best drive ever!

I’m an admitted equipment junkie, hence have tried a lot of different drivers. The latest driver in my bag was a Cleveland Launcher 460, 8.5 degree. I was quite happy with it’s length and forgiveness but when I had an opportunity to purchase an almost X460 off Ebay, I couldn’t resist.

My swing speed is mid 90’s so am right between a regular and stiff shaft. I prefer a slightly stiffer shaft for a lower trajectory and more control. The Cleveland driver had a regular with a high kick point which reacted similar to a stiff shaft. The X460 stiff shaft has a similar feel, not too stiff for my swing speed. I am easily able to hit either a low boring shot or a higher shot by adjusting the tee height.

This club is very forgiving and even if you put a bad swing on it, it goes a long way without too much extra sidespin. On the first hole of my home course, there is a line of trees cutting into the right fairway. With my previous drivers, if I didn’t put a good swing on it I would end up in the trees. The last couple times I have played the course (and put a bad swing on the X460 due to not warming up) I have hit similar feeling shots as the old drivers and expected to find the ball in the trees. Surprisingly I have found the ball 20 yards over the trees, so in my mind this club is hitting longer on mis-hits than my previous drivers.

The clubface seems a little more closed than normal, but unless you normally hit a draw it shouldn’t be problem. For those hitting a draw, the Tour version with less offset might be a better choice.

The biggest difference from any of the recent drivers I have played, is that this club feels much more solid on contact, even on mis-hits. This solid feel gives a lot of confidence in the club. The sound is like a pop can, but no big deal.

The X460’s are quickly coming down in price and, for me anyhow, it is just as good as the newer $400 drivers. Overall, very happy with this driver, and will be putting the Launcher up for sale.

Into the early part of 2008.
and the Hyper-X has replaced this driver in the brochure.
But When I play with this Driver, Still a GREAT club, accurate, wrokabililty is superb, pretty forgiving.
If I were you, if you are playing great with this club, there’s NO need to look for another one for this year at least.
Btw, the regular flex fujikura mid kick stock shaft is probably one of the best fitted around for a stock shaft. no need to change.
Will rate this 5 easily.

I purchased the X460 and it arrived yesterday and I immediately took it out for an 18 hole test drive. It is simply amazing. I did not pull or slice a single tee shot. Even my miss hits went straight. I had trouble on the front nine getting the ball in the air. Most of my tee shots were either topped or low line drives.

On the back nine I decided to tee the ball differently. Instead of the bottom of the ball at the top of the club, I teed it about 1/3 inch higher. The results: TING … first drive went 273 uphill. Second drive … TING … 245. Third drive … TING … 265. Fourth … TING … 276. Fifth … TING … 251. Unbelievable! I’m a beginner and 49 years old, but I was hitting my drives like I was twenty years younger and knew what I was doing.

My previous driver was a Jack Nicklaus 410cc regular flex that I hit about 220 (if I really cranked one it went 245). This Callaway club has added 30-40 yards to my drives. Had I figured out the tee height problem sooner I would have bettered my best round by a wide margin.

I would highly recommend this club to anyone of any ability.

i have had this driver for about 2 years now and i have not even considered buying another. i’m hitting it about 290 on average with a high to mid trajectory, and im only 16!

the stock shaft isnt too good, a got a prolaunch blue 65 shaft installed and i gain 10 yards easy.

the face is closed a little, but it is so easy to set up on line.

tee it high and let it fly!

I own this driver with standard shaft and 11 degrees loft. This driver is a very loud one, and I tend to like those kind of drivers. This is no exception. The sole of the club is designed to set up square to the target, and it does just that. The sound at impact may be too loud for some; I think it is perfect, though. The size at address is a nice, confidence booster. Overall, this is a great driver.

I went into a golf shop to buy the Callaway FT-5. Hit it for a while on the simulator with acceptable results, but the pro decided to show me some other options. Hit them ok, too, but I just kept going back to the FT-5, because I had it in my mind that I wanted that club. Finally the pro said hold on, I want you to try one more. He went and got the X460 in a higher trajectory loft. And boom, we both immediately recognized that I was hitting this club the best. Went in determined to buy the FT-5, left with the X460. Immediately went out and played 18 holes. Played an average front nine (missed some easy puts), then shot a 38 on the back…my best 9 holes ever. The X460 is just easy to put in the fairway. Long and straight. And it’s a beautiful club, too. They say you can’t buy a golf swing — but I’m starting to wonder…
